Here is a Well Done Video Spoof
of Drug Commercials...
|
A very
interesting timely and relevant video
clip has been created by the publisher
of Consumer Reports, Consumers Union.
Their online musical cartoon,
The
Drugs I Need, is a hilarious, yet
undeniably truthful, lampoon of
prescription drug marketing. The
director of prescriptionforchange.org, a
Consumer Union project that focuses on
issues like drug safety, explained that
the purpose behind
The
Drugs I Needis
to send the message beyond the typical
stale research reports and service the
people who don't necessarily have the
time in their busy schedules to wade
through a lengthy document.
What really
makes the video a success, though, is
the lyrics, which gleefully describe all
the various side effects of a multitude
of multi-colored pills…Take a 60 second
break and enjoy
The
Drugs I Need...
The One Thing You
Definitely Do NOT Want To Eat...
A recent
article spoke of a man who was
undergoing chemotherapy treatment for
cancer. The man's wife wanted to discuss
his nutritional needs with his doctor,
but the oncologist cut her off. He told
her, "Your husband should eat whatever
he wants to eat to keep his weight up."
This
statement not only highlights a lack of
understanding of nutrition, it also
underscores the fact that many doctors
are ignorant of advancements in their
own field. Because there's one thing
you definitely do NOT want to eat if you
have or want to prevent cancer. And
that's sugar.
In 1931,
German scientist Otto Warburg, Ph.D.,
won his first of two Nobel Prizes.
Dr. Warburg discovered that cancer
cells require glucose (sugar) as
fuel. All cells do, but cancer cells
consume 4 to 5 times more glucose than
normal cells. In other words, sugar
feeds cancer.
So if you
want to treat or prevent cancer,
nutrition does matter. Cut out the sugar
and refined carbohydrates. (Carbs are
converted to glucose in your body.) |

ONE-HALF Cup Of This
Miraculous "Medicine Food" Cuts Your
Cholesterol 10%...
A recent
study found that people who ate only a
half cup of this delicious food every
day for 30 days lowered their
cholesterol levels by 10%. That's a
quick 25-point drop if your count is 250
-- with NO drugs or drug side effects.
What's
more, a 2001 study published in the
Archives of Internal Medicine
demonstrated how this remarkable (and
popular) food can also lower your risk
for heart disease by 22%, plus it helps
lower your blood pressure as well.
Can you
manage half a cup a day? At most it will
take you 2 minutes...What is this
miracle food? Quaker Oatmeal...
Now
admitted, oatmeal can become a pretty
stale diet as the study results are
based on eating it every day for 30
days…So if you become tired of oatmeal,
or have a more serious cholesterol issue
we offer an effective and proven
cholesterol buster that is guaranteed to
get you to a safe level quickly…Read how
many have cut their total cholesterol by
40 to as many as 100 points in a few

American Cancer
Society 2005 Report Estimates Half of
Cancer Deaths are Preventable...
The newly
released annual report of the American
Cancer Society entitled “Cancer
Prevention and Early Detection: Facts
and Figures,” estimates that healthier
lifestyle practices and greater
participation in cancer screening
programs could cut deaths from the
disease in half. The report discusses
the importance of not smoking, good
nutrition, proper weight maintenance,
exercise, and utilization of tests such
as mammography, colonoscopy, pap smears
and prostate cancer screening. Deaths
from cancer, cardiovascular disease and
diabetes currently account for
two-thirds of all mortality in the
United States.
According to
the report, 570,280 cancer deaths will
occur in 2005, with 168,140 caused by
tobacco. Want to stop smoking? Nicoban
is our guaranteed 7 day stop smoking
plan...

One-third of
all projected deaths will be caused by
poor nutrition, lack of exercise, or
being overweight. The American Cancer
Society recommends that you consume five
or more servings of vegetables and
fruits each day, and limit processed
grains and sugars, and red meat.
Alcoholic beverage consumption should be
limited. With 65 percent of American
adults classified as overweight or
obese, calorie consumption should be
carefully balanced or in most cases
reduced. To reduce your calorie intake

A large
number of projected deaths from cancers
of the breast, cervix, colon and rectum
could be prevented if men and women
participated in regular screening for
these cancers. Ninety-seven percent
of breast cancer patients diagnosed at
the localized stage are alive at five
years, making early detection of the
disease critical. (Editors note…my
mother was diagnosed with breast cancer
at age 51…she lived a full normal life
until she passed away last fall at age
94)…
The fact
that half of the deaths from this major
killer could be avoided is good news,
and should encourage better nutrition
and greater participation in cancer
screening. While tobacco use continues
to decline, obesity is increasing,
making an awareness of proper nutrition
and exercise even more critical.
