In a recent
study published in the American Journal
of Cardiology, researchers from the
Harvard School of Public Health found
that eating broiled or baked fish was
associated with a reduced risk of heart
failure. They also discovered that
eating fried fish was associated with an
increased risk.
The researchers attributed the heart
benefits to the Omega-3 fatty acids in
the broiled and baked fish. They also
suggested that the reason fried fish
doesn't have the same benefits is
because most fried fish is made with
lean, white varieties that have very few
Omega-3s. While this is true, it's not
the whole story.
What the researchers didn't report is
that most fried fish is cooked in
vegetable oil (in some cases, in
hydrogenated vegetable oil). Vegetable
oil is very high in Omega-6 fatty acids,
the over-consumption of which strongly
promotes heart disease.
If you enjoy fish, have it baked,
broiled, poached, or steamed. If you
must have it fried, cook it in coconut
oil. Coconut oil is perfect for cooking
at high temperatures and, unlike
vegetable oil, it is a very healthy fat.
And – we have said this before- choose
only fish that is known to be free of
mercury and other pollutants. In most
cases they will not to be wild varieties
versus farmed. "Why?" you may ask.
Farmed fish are most often fed fish
meal, which is made from species of fish
that may be contaminated or toxic.
Put Out The
Fire in Your Stomach |
At the first sign of
indigestion, you may be inclined to pop
an antacid. After all, heartburn can be
very uncomfortable, and TV commercials
caution that acid indigestion may be a
sign of a dangerous erosive esophageal
condition aggravated by reflux.
But not so fast. Contrary to popular
thinking, most stomach problems
develop because of not enough -- rather
than too much -- stomach acid.
Regardless of the T.V. hype, If you
suffer from stomach upset or heartburn,
don't simply cover up the problem with
Tums or Rolaids. it's better to deal
with the underlying causes, such as
insufficient acid or an impaired mucous
lining in your digestive tract.
THE
NATURAL SOLUTION
It's
always preferable to prevent problems
from developing in the first place than
to look for ways to remedy them.
Here is a List of Solutions: •
Avoid excessive refined sugar, caffeine
and fried foods. These all have a
negative impact on your digestion,
leading to gas, impaired acid secretion
and gastric inflammation, heart burn and
pain.
• Chew food extra thoroughly. Adding
saliva to food jumpstarts the digestive
process.
• Use digestive enzymes. Research shows
that people over age 40 are quite likely
to have digestive enzyme deficiencies,
particularly stomach acid. Take enzymes
with each full meal to help your food
fully digest.
• Don't drink too much liquid while
eating. Excess fluid dilutes acid and
renders the digestive system less
efficient.
POP, POP!
FIZZ, FIZZ!
Once in a
while you may feel the need to resort to
an antacid remedy. For occasional, mild
discomfort, the following are the most
user-friendly, readily available and
least invasive solutions.
Pepto-Bismol coats the lining of the
digestive tract, mimicking the natural
mucous lining. It contains pepsin, an
enzyme that is naturally present in
fruits and vegetables, which helps to
settle the stomach.
Baking soda, or sodium bicarbonate,
quickly quenches stomach acid in a
natural way. Not only that, but it's
effective and it's inexpensive, too.
Men: Are
Your Estrogen Levels Stealing your
Manhood?
As a man ages, his body's
production of testosterone
naturally decreases and as a
result low testosterone can
increase your risk of chronic
disease. It can also rob you
of your strength and
muscularity, your virility, even
your drive and ambition. And
here's another slammer hitting
most mature men. Not only do we
have to contend with naturally
declining testosterone levels,
we are also affected by
increasing levels of estrogens
that feminize our bodies.
Because estrogen is a female
hormone, the male body starts to
become more feminine. A man's
chest muscles begin to sag and
look more like breasts. He gains
fat around the middle and gets
that 'dough boy' appearance.
His sex life can fall apart and
his risk of prostate cancer can
skyrocket.
It's not just testosterone,
guys. Your estrogen level also
plays a role in determining how
much "manpower" you have. The
higher your testosterone and the
lower your estrogen, the more
drive, ambition, muscularity,
and sexual energy you will have.
Here's an effective way to lower
your estrogen: A plant extract
called DIM is found naturally in
vegetables like broccoli,
cauliflower, and asparagus. It
works to break down estrogen
into safer compounds that your
body can easily eliminate. You
can purchase it as a dietary
supplement at health food
stores. Good news for users of
our
ProstateCare. Each daily
dose contains 80mg of DIM.
Another good reason to take DIM
is that it has been found to
stop the growth of prostate
cancer cells in about 70% of the
invitro tests conducted by U.C.
Berkley.
Here is another hot tip: If you
want to help your body increase
your testosterone levels, order
our value priced
Triple Hormone
tablet which contains DHEA and
Pregnenolone the precursors
which feed the production of
your hormones. Very affordable
and highly recommended if you
are 40 years of age or older.

Boost
Energy, Repair Your Body at the Cellular
Level
Every cell of the body has its own
private power plant. These busy energy
producers are called mitochondria, and
they need fuel, much as an electrical
power plant does.
A key ingredient in the
mitochondria's fuel is L-carnitine, an
amino acid that allows fats to be used
as cellular fuel with far more
efficiency. With L-carnitine having
such an essential role in the body, it
may be important to add this supplement
to your daily regime. It’s a little
pricey (about $40-45 at GNC). You can
get all you need plus a super high
antioxidant berry mix, MSM for hair,
nails and skin, a mixed green food and
Alpha Lipoic Acid all in one extremely
affordable formula. When you read the
details like “a daily equivalent of
2˝ pounds of vegetables,” you will
find this product hard to resist.
